Tax advisor

At month-end, everything is ready.

Working with a tax advisor rarely breaks down over expertise. It breaks down over searching: missing receipts, files sent in late, questions about transactions from three months ago. Sumaro collects as you go, so month-end produces a package instead of a search.

Everything is already in one place

Invoices, receipts and payments come together in one place as you work. At month-end, there is nothing left to hunt down from across the year.

What’s missing shows up early

Every expense needs a receipt. Sumaro keeps the transactions that don’t have one yet as a separate list, so the gap shows up on your side, not only once it reaches your tax advisor.

One package per month, or ongoing

On request, Sumaro creates a ZIP for the closed month. If you prefer ongoing access: once Google Drive is connected, new receipts land there automatically, sorted by year and month, without you having to trigger anything.

Monthly package

What’s in the package.

01

Incoming invoices

All of the month’s receipts in their own folder, each one with its transaction.

02

Outgoing invoices

The invoices you issued as PDFs, regenerated from the finalized data and therefore identical every time you download them.

03

Two overviews

The month’s income and expenses as spreadsheets, for cross-checking and further processing.

04

List of missing receipts

The transactions without a receipt: the follow-up question that would otherwise come back from your tax advisor.

Ongoing instead of on request

Or the Drive folder that fills itself.

Connect Sumaro to Google Drive once, and a daily run automatically files new outgoing invoices, expense receipts and bank statements there, sorted by company, year and month. Your tax advisor sees new documents as soon as they exist, instead of only at the next ZIP download.

The folder fills up from the day you connect it; it does not retroactively file documents that already exist. For those, the ZIP export above is still there.

To be clear

What we don’t claim here.

Once your advisor number and client number (Berater- and Mandantennummer) are set up, the monthly package can additionally include a DATEV posting batch (Buchungsstapel) in EXTF format. You set the account mapping yourself and agree it with your tax advisor.

We deliberately don’t call this a “DATEV interface” and don’t claim a verified import: so far, no tax advisor has imported such a batch from us. As soon as one has, it will say so here. Not before.

Sumaro also does not replace tax advice. Overviews and reports help with ongoing control and with preparation; the professional review stays with your tax advisor. What else Sumaro does with your data is described under Security.

The next step

Try the month-end workflow with your own numbers.

Add a few real transactions and see what comes out at the end of the month.
