Ari is the assistant in Sumaro: bottom right in the app, one question away. It answers what is in your invoices, clients and accounts, creates an invoice or estimate draft when you ask, edits or duplicates it and creates a new client when needed. Only what you approve yourself gets sent.
Ten tools
What Ari can do.
Ari isn’t handed your data as a whole. It works with ten narrowly scoped tools – five read, five create a draft, change or duplicate it, or create a new client. It isn’t allowed to do more, and that is exactly the point.
Clients
“How do I reach Ms. Winter?” – client number, contact details and the direct way to the client record.
Open receivables
“Who is overdue?” – remaining amounts, days overdue and the dunning level for each case.
Your numbers
“What’s my balance after reserves?” – the same calculation as on the dashboard: account balance, reserves, what is left.
Estimates
“What’s pending on estimates?” – status and amounts, from draft to acceptance.

The same for estimates. If a client name is ambiguous, Ari asks instead of guessing.

“Change the invoice: 10 hours instead of 8.” – Ari looks at the current draft first, then replaces the line items. Drafts only, never finalized documents.

“Create an invoice like the last one for Studio Winter.” – an existing invoice or estimate becomes a new draft.

“Create a new client: Möbelwerk Janssen, contact Mr. Janssen.” – Ari creates the client and points you to the record.
Your costs, in the open
Ari runs on your own OpenAI key from the settings. A typical question costs less than one cent there (model gpt-5.6-luna, as of August 2026) – Sumaro adds no surcharge.

What Ari deliberately doesn’t do.
Ari sends nothing.
Drafts stay drafts until you review and approve them yourself – as everywhere in Sumaro. A dunning letter never goes out without you either.
Ari doesn’t touch finalized documents.
Editing and duplicating work on drafts only. An invoice that has already been sent changes only through a regular credit note – as everywhere in Sumaro.
Ari doesn’t make up numbers.
Every number in an answer comes from a query of your own data. If the query returns nothing, Ari says so – instead of estimating.
Ari is not a tax advisor.
Tax and legal questions belong with a professional. Ari explains what Sumaro shows and refers you to your tax advisor for the rest.
Your conversation history is not stored – neither at Sumaro nor at the model provider (the request runs without storage). What Sumaro otherwise does with your data is explained under Security.
